Hotel Casa del Marqués

Beautiful 15c building at the very heart of Santillana. Lovely staff who were excellent. Secure parking at the rear. Large room with a comfortable bed and large and perfect bathroom. Public areas are quiet and beautifully furnished with antique items. Perfect first or last night if using the ferry at Santander.

Our room was amazing, with a balcony in the centre of the hotel facing the garden away from the noise of the streets. The whole hotel is decorated in an exotic style and our bedroom was much the same, the largest and most comfortable bed we have every experienced! The staff are so helpful, they will give you recommendations for restaurants and sightseeing and the bar/breakfast staff are absolutely charming. We loved the g&t selection and the breakfast buffet, no restaurant for dinner but plenty of choice around and about. We were pleased to find the parking as the streets are very narrow, you have to pull up outside the front so that they can direct you to their parking at the back of the hotel, you can check in after this. Santillana is a fabulous stop off before or after the ferry (less than an hour away from the port of Santander) and its cobbled streets and medieval buildings will not disappoint. We can thoroughly recommend this historic town and hotel with its many sitting spaces and gentle ambience, you will feel well looked after and well rested after a night here.

Warm welcome and hotel staff are excellent. Lovely hotel with bags of character. Great sized rooms and we had a fabulous balcony. Gardens are superb and great for getting out of the heat. Nice bar and small breakfast room with plenty of options and superb personal service. Good secure parking area, although we used public parking as we were a bit confused about entry to hotel car park.

Fantastic location and have a car park. Easy reach for restaurants and shops etc. Do not serve dinner but do a very nice breakfast albeit a little pricey i think. Room and bed were fantastic and decor is wonderful. Staff very helpful, we tried hard with our Spanish although they spoke very good English and we were grateful! Easy to park, just really nice and we will definitely go back!

The hotel was absolutely beautiful with gorgeous gardens. Was built in the 1500s so is full of history with the old polished floors, timber beams and stone walls. The furnishings are perfect, loved our huge bedroom with the most comfortable king bed. It’s right in the middle of old town.
